Prospects Showcase
Where we provide opportunities to goalies ready to take the next step in their careers.
Using our Prospects Showcase, we help budding goaltenders reach the next level. The goal is simple: provide USHL, NAHL, and other Junior opportunities to goaltenders from across North America (and the world) in one convenient location.
About Prospects
Achieve Your Goals
Our Prospects Showcase is designed for serious, competitive goaltenders trying to break into Junior and NCAA hockey. The showcase is an intense 3-day goalie camp spanning Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend. For athletes either unwilling or unable to join us in-person, we are also holding a fully-virtual version of the showcase (ask Josh@canprogoalieschool.com for more info).
This is not your typical Junior showcase experience. This is goalie-specific evaluation, instruction, and promotion.
How it works:
All goaltenders will be evaluated in 4 key areas: On-Ice Game-Play & Technique, Off-Ice Athleticism, Vision Performance, and Mindset & Personality.
Our staff of coaches and alumni will evaluate and create a scouting report showing both your strengths and areas of improvement.
As mentioned, goalies will be tested in other areas besides just the on-ice component. At the conclusion of camp, goalies will be provided a 1:1 exit interview to discuss the weekend and potential opportunities that came from the camp. Most of the opportunities will come after camp, as we process and create your individual profile to send to teams.
We promote and help goaltenders move on in three ways:
-
Coaches and scouts on-ice and in attendance.
-
Direct referrals and recommendations to our network of teams, coaches & scouts. We've worked with 6 USHL, 20 NAHL, and various CJHL (Canadian Jr. A) and Tier 3 leagues to place goalies in competitive situations. In 2020, we worked across 120 Junior teams to help find homes for our goalies!
-
We create video profiles for each goaltender, including their On-Ice film and all assessment reports. These are published to an online platform, where goalies can then share their profile with other scouts & coaches.

All Room, Board, Meals, and Transportation to & from the rink are provided. You won't have to find & pay for a hotel or food on top of the camp cost. We will also arrange airport pickup, as applicable (please just tell us your flight arrival time and airline). Other than that, we have everything covered throughout the weekend.
Arriving at Camp. If you plan on traveling in a day early (Thursday), please be advised you must find your own transportation and hotel accommodations for that night. Otherwise, please arrive in time for an approximate start Friday, May 28th around 3 PM at the Richfield Ice Arena. Our first ice time is 5 PM Friday evening. Before that, we'll hold an introductory meeting and overview of expectations for the weekend. At around 4 PM, on-ice group 1 will warm up and prepare for their session and group 2 will conduct their interviews. Josh will have hotel keys for you at the rink, so when we get back to the hotel it's super simple, right to bed.
Leaving Camp. Our final ice session Sunday will conclude at 2:15 PM. Please arrange flights for a late-afternoon or evening departure. We will do our best to accommodate goalies flying out, but cannot provide transportation to the airport before the last session of ice concludes. Our Junior Prospects Showcase is years in the making, created by Steve Briere back in 2010. Steve is now the goaltending coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs and remains owner of CPGS. Over the years, Steve and Josh have developed extensive relationships with teams and coaches in Junior leagues across North America. These relationships are instrumental in helping move goalies on to the next level.
Scott Langer
Head Coach
Aberdeen Wings NAHL
We are proud to support the CPGS Prospects Camp as we believe that it will help us evaluate the top talent available for our club. I would strongly recommend any goalie who is looking to play for our club attend
Cary Eades
Head Coach
Fargo Force USHL
We fully endorse this camp. Not only do you receive great instruction, but Steve and his staff work very hard to place players with teams. We have taken goalies they recommend directly into our Fargo Force camp (which is usually a week or two later).
Paul Dyck
Head Coach
Steinbach Pistons MJHL
We used Steve Briere and the CPGS prospects camp to provide us with a top goaltender this past season. We are extremely pleased with CPGS and we will be using their services again to fill our future goaltending needs
Our Alumni
Success Stories
Our Alumni includes goalies who have participated in the Year-Round Goalie Coaching program and the Prospects Camp program, and it’s forever growing.
We are so proud of the work that each and every one of them put into becoming the best and realizing their dreams. We do not claim to have "created" these goalies, they're the ones that have put in the work...rather we've partnered with them along their journey.
This is listed based on the highest level our goalies were able to achieve. Many of them were placed at lower levels (such as the NAHL or USHL) before climbing the ranks into college and pro hockey. This list includes only goalies who were placed in Juniors, many more are still at the High School & Midget levels.
